Butcher Wins $7 million 2002 Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League Okie Division Opener

Kington, Okla., (Feb. 25, 2002) - Terry Butcher, Talala, Okla., topped 160
Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League competitors Saturday on Lake Texoma with five
bass weighing 13 pounds, 8 ounces. The catch earned him $4,215 and 200
points in the Boater Division.

Butcher caught his limit, which topped second-place boater Spencer
McAlester, Denison, Texas, by 1 pound, 13 ounces, using a -ounce white
spinner bait around wood cover. McAlester finished the one-day tournament
with a four-bass catch weighing 11 pounds, 11 ounces worth $2,107. He also
earned a $500 bonus from Ranger Boats as the highest finishing participant
in the Ranger Cup incentive program.

Alton Wilhoit, Harrah, Okla. (five bass, 11 pounds, 8 ounces, $1,264); Adam
Wright, Benton, Ark., (five bass, 9 pounds, 7 ounces, $1,012); and Robert
Cruse, Broken Arrow, Okla., (three bass, 8 pounds, 12 ounces, $927) rounded
out the top-five boaters.

Don Whitley, Tulsa, Okla., earned boater big bass honors and $800 with a
6-pound, 11-ounce bass that he caught on a clown colored rogue.

Bill Hulet, Broken Arrow, Okla., claimed first place and $2,107 in the
160-competitor Co-angler Division with four bass weighing 8 pounds. He
surpassed second-place co-angler Brian Mathis, Moore, Okla., by 2 ounces.
Mathis finished with a three-bass catch weighing 7 pounds, 14 ounces worth
$1,054.

David Hanning, Wagoner, Okla. (three bass, 6 pounds, 6 ounces, $632); Jeff
Waits, Hulbert, Okla. (three bass, 6 pounds, 5 ounces, $506); and Kevin
Turner, Beggs, Okla. (two bass, 5 pounds, 15 ounces, $464) rounded out the
top-five co-anglers.

James Parsons, Tahlequah, Okla., earned co-angler big bass honors and $400
with a 4-pound, 13-ounce bass.

Overall, three five-bass limits were caught during the tournament.
